Experience reviewing testing accommodation documentation

Dr. Anderson previously served as a reviewer for the College Board's Services for Students with Disabilities (2001–2005), evaluating documentation submitted in support of accommodations for the PSAT, SAT, and Advanced Placement examinations.

That experience, combined with his work in psychological assessment and school psychology, informs his understanding of the importance of clear diagnostic documentation and individualized descriptions of functional needs. The College Board role was historical and does not imply current affiliation or endorsement.

Bring the testing organization's requirements

Documentation standards differ among schools, universities, testing agencies, and licensing boards. Some require particular testing measures, evidence of current functional limitations, or specific time frames for evaluations.

Before scheduling, obtain the current requirements from the organization reviewing your request. These can help determine the appropriate scope of assessment.

Important distinction

Evaluation results may inform or support an accommodations request; they do not guarantee a particular plan, service, or accommodation. Schools, institutions, and testing organizations make their own eligibility and approval decisions.

For K–12 students, school teams determine special education and Section 504 eligibility under applicable procedures.
